A simple bookkeeping spreadsheet for expenses and income
Most freelancers and shop owners do not need accounting software to know where the money goes. This bookkeeping spreadsheet has an expense log with room for 1,000 rows, an income log for 500 payments, and a summary that turns both into a monthly profit picture. Pick categories from a dropdown so the totals stay clean.
- Category, payment method and Yes/No dropdowns
- Up to 20 categories with your own names
- Income vs expenses = net for each month
- Year total for every row
Monthly budget by category
Type a monthly budget next to each category (or leave it blank). The categories tab multiplies it by twelve and shows spent this year, the amount remaining and the share of the budget used, so you see an overspend in advertising or software early.
Tax-deductible totals from the expenses you mark
Mark each expense Yes or No and the summary totals what you marked as deductible per month and for the year, ready to hand over at tax time. What counts as deductible depends on where you live and your business, so ask your accountant or tax preparer; the spreadsheet only adds up what you mark.
A small business spreadsheet that stays yours
The file is yours to keep: no subscription, no account, no bank connection. Choose your business name, the year and your currency symbol before you download. Every total is a visible SUMIFS formula you can check, and dates outside the chosen year are left out, so next year you start a fresh copy.
